Lowering Suspension on a 04 Mitsubishi galant.? If i wanted to lower the suspension on my 04 galant, how much $$$ would i be looking at?

Wonderputz replied: "You have struts all the way around. They're relatively easy with a lift and air tools, but you couldn't pay me enough to do them without either. The problem you run into in that situation is that the car is 12 years old, things rust, and you never know what will break (though I can almost guarantee the sway bar links do). You probably want to have a shop do it. Shop around for a good labor quote."
Does anyone make ANY performance parts for the 2007 Mitsubishi Galant? I have a 2007 Ralliart Galant, with the 3.8 MIVEC V6 engine, and I am looking for anything from intake to turbo, and suspension and exhaust. So far I have not found anyone making parts for it yet. ANY IDEAS??

Riley replied: "well i dont know too much about engines or that.. but i know you can upgrade your cold air intake, add a K&N filter to your intake as well.. i also know you can upgrade the exhaust to add a little bit of HP.. I wouldnt upgrade suspension on a 4k car unless you wanna take it to a track though. A turbo wouldnt hurt. but in a 4k car I wouldnt look for a supercharger.

In your car, being a car, I would install either 2 10's or 2 12's depending on how prevelant you like your bass.. The main thing to look for is the amp! depending on how much you would like to spend..
I would say to get 2 10's in a probox, add about a 2000W amp to go along with it. make sure it has about 60 in the fuses. (check the number on the fuses. if they add up to 60 your in business) with anything less on your amp it might sound nice but you wouldnt be harnessing the full potential."

I have spend alot of money on the car, including
new alternator, battery, suspension, engine tune up
So today I went to a dealer and see if I can trade my car in and maybe
get a discount on a new car.
I mean I wasn't asking alot, I am satisfied with $400 -1000.
but guess what the dealer told me,
the car is worth only $100
yes that's exactly what they told me.
These guys doesn't even low ball me.
they were humiliating me with their offer.
I think I can sale my tires for 100 bucks
The point is, they haven't even look at the car,
they just say "it's a 14 year old car, we don't have the price in our SOP"
I was like you guys are trying to sell me an used vehicle based on the KBB price and you are telling me you don't know what my car is worth?
And I just felt so disgusted by that place, so I just got up and left.
Such a waste of time.
I just want to know if you guys have heard ridiculous offers like the one I got today, share the experience.

Sylvia P replied: "You need be cautious when going to trade in your car to a dealership. If you are not certain of what your car is worth then you can be at a disadvantage.
Dont be suprised if a dealer makes a low offer. It's really easy to get a quote online to check how much your vehicle is going to fetch. I have recommended - Good luck."

I have found that Les Schwab ires can do this kind of work, so can Big O and a few of the other tire shops. The draw back is that it is not going to be cheap. The only other recommendation I can give you is to try a customizing shop."

how to fix a creaking suspension? i own a 2000 mitsubishi galant which creaks excessively. it starts when i shift from park to drive it creaks loudly. when i take my foot of the breaks to accelerate it creaks again. when i go over small bumps it creaks when i stop it creaks when i go it creaks. creak creak annoying creak. i lubed all joints with silicone spray as a temp fix to see if it might be a dried up ball joint or something but that did not help. when i give my suspension the bounce test it passes with flying colors. so what gives man. please help

Strut mount
Strut
Lower Ball joint
Lower control arm bushings.
Tie rod
Stabilizer end link
Stabilizer bushings.
and of course, the spring. You'll have to check all of them."
Alignment or Suspension? I own a Mitsubishi Galant 1996, apparently when i took a close look at the back, the rear of the car seemed pretty low (basically dropped close to the tire), Im not sure what it can be, is it possible that the car just needs an alignment?
Only the rear right side of the car looks lower than the other, although the rear passenger side is pretty dropped too, the front looks normal, i check the trunk if their was extra weight but after taking out the things i have inside it still looked the same. How do i go about fixing this problem besides going to an alternative car shop?
karenhar replied: "Sounds like you did something to the suspension. Take it to a shop that deals with suspension and tell them your concerns."
Galaxie replied: "It sounds as if the springs are shot...the car is 11 years old, that's not unusual. Take it to an alignment shop, and have them check it out, but I suspect you need new springs."
